Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist to join our team at Mpower Health. As an IONM Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preoperative assessments of patients and conduct intraoperative sensory and motor tests using electrophysiological techniques.
  • Compile, interpret, and communicate data in real-time to the surgical team.
  • Complete post-operative reports and billing forms.
  • Explain test procedures to patients and their families, ensuring they understand the process.
  • Measure and apply electrodes accurately, following the international 10-20 Electrode Placement System.
  • Calibrate, evaluate, and adjust equipment to optimize recording and stimulation parameters.
  • Identify and eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifacts during surgery.
  • Recognize normal patterns, variants, and abnormalities, and understand the clinical correlations between evoked potentials and disease states.
  • Document significant events and stages of surgery, including technical descriptions of IOM modalities recorded.
Requirements
  • CNIM or CNIM-eligible certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher (Masters, Ph.D., MD).
  • Current AHA CPR certification.
Working Conditions

As an IONM Technologist, you will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, interacting with medical staff, patients, and visitors. You will be required to stand, turn, and stoop among equipment, and apply electrodes to patients with precision and speed. You may be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, but with proper precautions, the risk is minimal.
