Job Title: Geotechnical Field Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Field Inspector to join our team in NY/NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical drilling, deep foundation installation, and other site activities on a high-profile project in the Bronx.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field oversight of geotechnical drilling, including SPTs, CPTs, rock coring, and test pits.
  • Field oversight of deep foundation installation, including driven piles, caissons, micropiles, and helical piles.
  • Detailed inspection of caissons, utilizing underwater cameras and other techniques to ensure structural integrity and proper placement.
  • Field oversight and monitoring of pile load tests.
  • Field oversight of ground improvement techniques, including aggregate piers and compaction grouting.
  • Support of excavation inspection, including tie-rod installation and testing.
  • Field oversight of shallow foundation installation, sheeting, and shoring.
  • Field oversight of earthwork operations, subgrade preparation, and soil stabilization/improvement techniques.
  • Underpinning inspections.

Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in field oversight of geotechnical activities, including installation of shallow and deep foundations, earthwork operations, and support of excavation.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is $50-$70 hourly.
