A DAY IN THE ROLE:

The Senior Field Sales Trainer collaborates with the Senior Manager of Commercial Training and the Area Sales Director within their designated region to design and implement comprehensive training programs for the field sales team. This position emphasizes the assessment and enhancement of existing training initiatives, the creation of educational materials and curricula, the facilitation of training sessions, the deployment of sales enablement tools, and the provision of on-the-job coaching to boost quota achievement and overall team effectiveness. While reporting to commercial training, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with sales leaders, including Area Directors and Regional Sales Managers, to mentor and cultivate sales talent.

We are currently seeking trainers for each of our regions: West, Central, and East.
  • Assists in the development of sales training resources, including presentations, manuals, videos, and e-learning modules utilizing programs such as Articulate, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and Asana.
  • Facilitates New Hire Orientation and Phase One Sales Training for new employees.
  • Contributes to the creation and delivery of training content for the Territory Manager Pathway Program.
  • Designs and conducts ongoing upskilling training for the field sales team through various formats, including workshops, videos, podcasts, and other channels.
  • Conducts field visits with Territory Managers and Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialists to gather best practices and provide on-the-job coaching to enhance quota achievement.
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing leaders to ensure training programs align with product offerings and market trends.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through reports and comprehensive analysis, providing recommendations for enhancement.
  • Strategically aligns course objectives, content, and workshops to meet marketing and sales goals.
  • Works closely with product managers, marketing leadership, and clinical leadership to integrate new products, messaging, and content into training programs.
  • Supports strategic planning for the department, including staffing, budgeting, training, and system requirements.
YOUR STRENGTHS:
  • In-depth knowledge of diabetes and the complex healthcare landscape.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, business, or marketing; or a combination of equivalent education and relevant work experience.
  • Over 5 years of professional sales experience, with at least 3 years in diabetes medical devices preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering sales training initiatives that drive results, with a minimum of one year of sales training experience highly desired.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs, including virtual and blended learning formats.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is preferred: diabetes, endocrinology, insulin infusion pumps, and managed care.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software is required.
  • Willingness to travel at least 80% within the assigned territory; must possess a valid driver's license and required auto insurance, along with a good driving record per company policy.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Sponsorship for employment visas is not available at this time.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $145,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and may also fluctuate depending on the candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Tandem provides healthcare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts. Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays annually, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (starting in year 1), and access to a 401k plan with company match.
