Mobile Crisis Intervention Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mobile Crisis Specialist to join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health. As a Mobile Crisis Specialist, you will be responsible for providing crisis intervention and support to individuals in need, working closely with our crisis team to ensure timely and effective responses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-call/mobile coverage based on your work schedule.
- Receive calls from the crisis line or crisis services leadership to conduct telephone or face-to-face assessments.
- Collaborate with crisis team members and access community resources when needed.
- Assess risk and coordinate services for individuals in crisis, including facilitating hospitalization or connecting them to other resources.
- Create safety plans for individuals as necessary.
- Work with law enforcement and emergency medical personnel to support individuals and their families.
- Maintain communication with internal and external partners to provide access or referrals to services.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental illness in children and adults to effectively serve individuals in crisis.
- Navigate legal issues regarding custody and guardianship to provide care in the least restrictive environment.
- Understand the involuntary commitment process.
- Ensure proper documentation to comply with DMH, BBH, and other entity requirements.
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures, including emergency and corporate compliance policies.
- Participate in scheduled conference calls, webinars, meetings, trainings, and supervision.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the mental health field.
- CPR/First Aid and CPI certified.
- Must demonstrate competency in crisis intervention, safety, legal issues, and collaboration with law enforcement before removal from probationary status.
