We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at Carrix, Inc./SSA Marine, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of our terminal equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and direct maintenance programs for terminal equipment and technicians.
- Ensure comprehensive preventative maintenance and mechanical safety of all terminal equipment.
- Represent the Maintenance Department at internal and external safety meetings.
- Design and implement maintenance plans for equipment under supervision.
- Assist with hiring, discipline, and termination of maintenance personnel.
- Work with departments to achieve operational objectives.
- Provide input on equipment specifications and vendor relationships.
- Evaluate and control maintenance costs.
- Ensure maintenance programs meet intended objectives.
- Train maintenance personnel to improve performance and skills.
- Stress workplace safety and participate in safety programs.
- Communicate company policies to maintenance personnel.
- Participate in equipment acquisition and disposition.
- Stay up-to-date with new technology applied to equipment.
- Two-year AA degree or equivalent experience in maintenance and management.
- 10 years' experience in a related industry.
- 5 years managing related union labor.
- Journeyman's License as a Millwright preferred.
- Valid CPR certificate required.
- Valid DL required.
