About the Role

The Port of Portland is seeking a highly skilled Dredge Quality Control Program Manager to oversee our quality control initiatives for dredging operations at the Port. This role is essential in ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement the Quality Control (QC) program on United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) contract.
  • Lead QC planning, partnering, preconstruction, and coordination.
  • Hold weekly QC meetings with the team and the contracting officer or their representative.
  • Monitor, update, and notify the contracting officer of any proposed changes to the QC plan.
  • Coordinate all specified and on-site testing and personnel required by the contract.
  • Inspect all work (and rework) to ensure its compliance with contract requirements.
  • Work closely with Dredge Captain and Shore Superintendent with coordination of daily operational activities and implement and manage the three phase quality control system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime, Construction, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in progressively more responsible positions and shipyard experience including repair and maintenance.
  • Construction Quality Management for Contractors training required within 6 months of hire.
  • Maintain a valid state drivers' license.
  • OSHA 30-hour training is preferred.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred.
