Healthcare Training Specialist

The Staff Development Specialist plays a vital role in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training for the Comprehensive Health Accompaniment and Management Platform (CHAMP). This innovative platform is used by hundreds of community service providers to manage housing, benefits advocacy, case management, and other services. As a key member of the Heluna Health team, you will provide training to internal and external CHAMP users, collaborating with stakeholders to analyze training needs, determine learning outcomes, gather content, and recommend the most appropriate training modalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on CHAMP functionalities and provide ongoing training support for program leads.
- Develop and collaborate on content outlines with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Create training solutions that simplify complex processes and technological concepts.
- Provide training through various modalities, including webinars, live instructor-led, and blended training.
- Survey participants to assess training effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Continuously assess training needs and develop suitable strategies.
- Develop accessible training materials, including course outlines, instructional materials, and training aids.
- Update training materials based on feedback, support tickets, and system updates.
- Recommend and optimize training processes to upper management.
- Coach peers conducting CHAMP training.
- Assist in identifying and developing internal policies and procedures related to CHAMP training.
- Maintain a training and documents library.
- Participate in IT meetings to understand system enhancements and consider training needs.
- Test new system enhancements and participate in user acceptance tests (UATs).
- Provide exceptional technical and customer support to CHAMP users as needed.
- Establish training schedules based on priorities and needs.
- Collaborate with training management services vendor to maintain accurate training records.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Either (1) one year of staff experience with responsibility for conducting training regarding health care programs, or (2) one year of experience in the supervision of eligibility determination in a health or welfare agency, or (3) one year of experience in the supervision of a patient access unit, or (4) three years of experience in the supervision of a large clerical unit in a health or welfare agency.
- One year of additional experience at the required level may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
- Successful clearing through the Live Scan process with the County of Los Angeles.
