Job Overview

The Riverside Church is seeking a Community Clothing Pantry Support Associate to assist in the day-to-day operations of our clothing pantry.

Estimated Salary:

$35,000 - $45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort and organize clothing donations by type, size, and condition to ensure they are clean and in good condition before being made available to clients.
  • Provide exceptional client assistance by guiding them through the clothing pantry, offering suggestions, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Manage inventory levels and notify the coordinator when specific items are running low or need restocking.
  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment by arranging clothing on racks and shelves in an organized and attractive manner.
  • Assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing incoming clothing donations from donors and ensure proper documentation if required.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork by working closely with other volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the clothing pantry.
Requirements:
  • A genuine desire to help those in need and a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage inventory.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and other volunteers.
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of clothing, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that may require physical effort.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and take on various tasks as required.
Training and Support:

Volunteers will receive an orientation and training session to familiarize them with the clothing pantry's operations, policies, and safety procedures. Ongoing support will be provided by the coordinator or designated staff members.
