Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Part-Time Nourish/Intake Pantry Commodities Associate to join our Senior Nutrition Programs team. This role will support the distribution of nutritious food packages to seniors through our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive, and have experience working with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities- Food Package Distribution: Assist with creating and distributing food packages to eligible seniors, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of nutritious food items.
- Client Services: Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Pantry Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized pantry environment, including tracking inventory, storing commodity items, and communicating with the front desk staff and Nourish Intake Manager as needed.
- Outreach and Education: Participate in outreach efforts to promote NYCP's programs and services, and provide nutrition education and guidance to seniors as part of the Nourish program.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required; proficiency in additional languages a plus.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with seniors, food assistance programs, or non-profit organizations desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
This is a part-time position, approximately 28 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of $17.50-$18.50. Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, 403(b) retirement account, employer-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and pre-tax transit benefits.
