Job Summary:

The Project Accounting Manager at Education Development Center new is responsible for the oversight and completion of all accounting tasks related to the proper set up, maintenance, reporting, revenue recognition, and closeout of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Project Data Management Specialist in setting up projects and entering award modifications, including necessary budget data into Cost Point.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of revenue recognized for each program and proper set up and maintenance of revenue formulas.
  • Work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Accounts Receivable team, Project Managers, Division Finance Directors, and Center Financial Managers.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and gain/loss reports with detailed comments regarding margins for individual projects.
  • Maintain the project reconciliation database.
  • Take the lead in ensuring timely and efficient closure of projects and final billings.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end revenue closing entries.
  • Prepare federal and non-federal project financial reports per project terms.
  • Prepare Small Business Reporting as required per project terms with applicable requirements.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
