Assembler Job Description

Avidity Science is seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team in the production of high-quality products. As an Assembler, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of assembly operations to assemble small and medium-sized units involving a considerable amount of parts.
  • Recognize defective parts and take corrective action.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and work instructions using required measuring instruments and gauging devices.
  • Perform final assemblies, inspect, and test products.
  • Set up and run machines in assembly departments.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment following 5S standards.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.
  • Use computer to enter labor hours.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing and business tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written business correspondence.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Ability to learn new concepts with general supervision.
  • Ability to manage commitments.
  • Ability to present an idea to a group.
  • Ability to interpret operating instructions or blueprints for assembly and wiring of product.
  • Ability to display a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn to set up, run, and troubleshoot new equipment introduced to the department.
  • Ability to read policies, procedures, picklists, routings, and work instructions.
  • Ability to count by hand or scale.
Physical Demands:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands to handle or touch.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and use foot/feet to operate machine/fixtures.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach above shoulders.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. when lifting product from assembly table to test stand or fixture.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Personal protective equipment required to safely perform this job includes safety shoes, safety glasses, vinyl gloves, and hearing protection when required.
