Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team at Dayton Freight. As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our fleet of trailers, ensuring they are in top condition and ready for service.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including suspension and running gear components, landing gear assembly and components, wheel components and tires, brake and air components, electrical, lighting and wiring components, rear frame and door components, side, nose and roof components, and interior and floor components.

Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs, maintaining a high level of welding and metal fabrication skills.

Perform service calls, wash and fuel equipment when necessary, and road test vehicles to ensure quality repair services were performed.

Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, interacting courteously and professionally with fellow employees, and pro-actively assist, guide, and direct junior technicians.

Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with OSHA and company standards, and work with the Parts Department to ensure all necessary materials, parts, service, and shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels.

Work in compliance with EPA regulations, DOT, and company safety requirements, and perform other maintenance duties or assignments as necessary.

Requirements:

Possess a valid Driver's License, basic math skills, and be fluent in English. Must be at least 18 years of age, able to pass a drug screen, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.
