Job Summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a highly skilled Regional Manager II to lead our operational team in the North Solar Region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of our solar and storage sites, ensuring the overall production of solar and storage generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical specialists in the North Solar Region, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of daily work scope definition, daily strategy definition, daily risk categorization and mitigation, daily risk analysis and approvals, and procedure and policy review.
  • Ensure the team is working safely and following all safety policies, identifying and coordinating team priorities based on performance, and attending and leading team performance meetings.
  • Attend and participate in leader's meetings for resource allocation, ensuring work is being executed as planned by following up with direct reports multiple times a day, and identifying and coordinating team priorities.
  • Perform risk assessment reviews and approvals on an individual job basis, organizing and scheduling maintenance outages, and coordinating force outage outages.
  • Review and approve permits, including excavation permits, hot work permits, and work permits, and coordinate third-party vendor activities, including determining the need for third-party services, supporting scope definition, submitting requests for quotes, and reviewing quotes and submitting for requisition.
  • Attend, participate, and communicate team needs to OEMs for warranty response, execute leader in the field work order and work scope, and conduct field visits and observations for training purposes and site-specific scope.
  • Provide regional on-call support, including providing same team support during weekends and holidays, and being available after hours and off-normal hours for making decisions on work scope and risk involving equipment and teammate safety, risk assessment review and approvals, coordination of third-party activities, and coordination of restoration efforts.
  • Execute storm roles, including site preparation, post-storm assessment, and post-storm restoration, and coordinate and support in-field preparation for region's solar and storage sites, team assessment, restoration, and support.
  • Perform administrative duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, with a solid technical background and field services experience.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple complicated tasks and achieve flawless execution.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in business process management and Six Sigma skills or equivalent quality skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Master's Degree
Work Environment

The base of operations will be North Solar Operations in Green Cove Springs, FL, and it is expected that the ideal candidate be located in the Jacksonville, FL area.
