Role Overview:

The Security Specialist II is responsible for delivering security services through professional engagement with the public, patients, staff, and management. This role involves responding to various calls, assisting in both emergency and non-emergency situations, and documenting safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities. The position includes patrolling designated areas to ensure the safety of the public, patients, staff, and property. The specialist is accountable to the department's leadership for demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and overall competence in handling assignments and daily responsibilities. A commitment to exceptional customer service and maintaining respectful relationships is essential. Candidates must complete and pass psychological and physical fitness evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proactive patrols of assigned areas and perform all security-related tasks, ensuring compliance with life safety standards.
  • Investigate suspicious activities or individuals and report any hazards or unusual circumstances to the Security Operations Center, keeping supervisors informed of significant events.
  • Respond to a range of situations, including high-risk incidents and natural disasters, using sound judgment to assess alarm causes and provide appropriate assistance.
  • Administer initial first aid as necessary, in accordance with training.
  • Familiarize with relevant systems and respond to fire alarms during actual incidents and drills, including conducting assessments for helicopter fire prevention.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, fellow officers, and the Security Operations Center to report crimes, incidents, and safety concerns.

Qualifications:

Possession of a valid state driver's license and a driving record that complies with company policy.

Certification in Basic Training from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) or an equivalent certification within six months of employment.

Must meet departmental testing requirements (mental, physical, etc.) as applicable.
