Laboratory Coordinator

University Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Coordinator to support the daily functions of the Laboratory Department. This role involves performing a variety of clerical tasks, including filing, tracking, and record keeping of patient samples. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies from outside vendors and the hospital storeroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports daily functions and completes tasks assigned by the Laboratory Department
  • Performs clerical tasks, including filing, tracking, and record keeping of patient samples
  • Coordinates the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies from outside vendors and the hospital storeroom
  • Assists in the receipt and logging of specimens delivered to the Laboratory from within UHS, research, and referral lab clients

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two years of clinical laboratory experience or a related field is required
  • An associate degree in business, public relations, clinical laboratory science, or a related field is preferred
  • Six months to one year of general clerical work, including familiarity with hospital procedures, is preferred
