PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and direct the survey team to guarantee accurate project surveying.

  • Confirm and deliver project control surveys and markers.
  • Conduct field surveys and layouts for all aspects of road construction, including walls, drainage, bridges, earthworks, and utilities, ensuring precision and timeliness.
  • Support Quality Control as needed to validate field layouts and survey data.
  • Gather and document as-built survey information as necessary to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Calculate and track quantities needed for progress billing and forecasts.
  • Offer technical support for machine control operations and grade-checking personnel.
  • Provide training to project staff on surveying, machine control technologies, and methodologies.
  • Conduct monthly equipment verification.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and vehicles.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in surveying for heavy roadway projects of similar or larger scope.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Extensive knowledge of surveying principles and heavy civil construction machinery.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications and convert them into field survey data.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology, machine control systems, and modern surveying equipment.
  • Experience in at least two comparable projects in the same role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of lifting 25 to 50 lbs multiple times throughout the day.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions.
  • Must be able to access all areas of a job site.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
