Job Title: Data Specialist

Job Summary:

The Data Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance with the database system, providing support and assistance to the Early Learning Division (ELD) on data collection, and maintaining and optimizing the ELD Customer Service Software Help Desk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect ELD data using an assigned database system
  • Organize and maintain ELD statistical data
  • Monitor and analyze Early Learning Division data and submit required reports
  • Assist the Office/Data Manager with reports, data system designs, and data management
  • Maintain and optimize the ELD Customer Service Software Help Desk
  • Provide data and software technical assistance to ELD staff
  • Assist with ELD staff training on software and database systems
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the supervisor
  • Prepare all required reports, including weekly, monthly, and annual reports as needed by the program for management, and state and federal reporting requirements
  • Ability to work independently and develop positive working relationships with staff
  • Adhere to Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc. policies and procedures related to prevention and response to COVID-19, including participating in training, use of PPE, implementation of universal precautions, social distancing, and keeping the workspace clean
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with six months experience in record keeping OR an Associate's Degree with two years experience in record keeping OR High School Diploma with four years experience in record keeping
  • Three years of work experience in the office, and recruitment-related skills, tracking and reporting
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer software programs
  • Knowledge of early childhood programs, principles, and procedures including Head Start Performance Standards and Office of Early Childhood Regulations
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Knowledge and experience in data collection
  • Experience in training and training development for small and large groups
  • Knowledge of the Community we serve and its resources
  • Must have a valid CT driver's license with a good driving record and willingness to travel
