Sharpened Image Inc, a leading Human Resource Management Firm, is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Assistant to join our team in Union, NJ. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of payroll and related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and process weekly timesheets in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll through our Automated Time and Attendance System (ATS) and send to our payroll partner.
- Follow up with employees and clients regarding timesheet approvals and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Set up new hires in our payroll system and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepare and send out weekly invoices to clients in a professional and timely manner.
- Create and prepare backup files and distribute to clients as required.
- Obtain new Purchase Order (PO) numbers from clients, where applicable, and ensure timely updates to our records.
- Manage and maintain a roster of all PO numbers and update accordingly.
- Follow up with new hires to ensure understanding of payroll procedures and provide support as needed.
- Send out payroll memos and announcements to employees and clients.
- Manage and handle payroll-related inquiries and questions from employees and clients.
- Manage benefit allocations and ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Create and send out rate letters to clients, where required.
- Pull and analyze bi-weekly Accounts Receivable (AR) reports and follow up on open receivables with clients.
Requirements:
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Great computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Resourceful and able to anticipate needs and provide solutions.
- Great time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be highly organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be professional and able to maintain confidentiality.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
