Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Job Description

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Stepdown Service Unit (CSSU). As a member of our team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures, including pre and post cardiac caths, pacemakers, TEEs/Cardioversions, open heart surgery, ablations, TAVRs, groin management, strokes/TIAs, traumas, sepsis, COPD, CHF, AFib exacerbations, detox and drug abuse, and general med/surg telemetry overflow and IV maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures
  • Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
  • Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient's needs
