Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Stepdown Service Unit (CSSU) at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our clinical team to create and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures, including pre and post cardiac caths, pacemakers, TEEs/Cardioversions, open heart surgery, ablations, TAVRs, groin management, strokes/TIAs, traumas, sepsis, COPD, CHF, AFib exacerbations, detox and drug abuse, and general med/surg telemetry overflow and IV maintenance.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, collaborative environment, instructing and educating patients and family members, and coordinating patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in NH or valid Compact State License.
  • BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross).
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia (within 3 months from hire).
  • NIH Stroke Scale within 45 days of hire.
