The Clinical Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia care in our operating rooms and procedural areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals in preparing patients for surgery and anesthesia procedures.
- Set up and maintain anesthesia equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels during procedures.
- Provide support with patient positioning, transfer, and transportation.
- Assist with inventory management and maintenance of anesthesia supplies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a clinical technician program preferred.
- One year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a related healthcare field.
- BLS certification required; Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAAT) certification preferred.
The Clinical Anesthesia Technician works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and long hours. The role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, as well as work in a well-lighted and ventilated office/clinical setting.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. The hospital provides PPE for these situations.
