Clinical Anesthesia Technician Job Description

The Clinical Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia care in our operating rooms and procedural areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals in preparing patients for surgery and anesthesia procedures.
  • Set up and maintain anesthesia equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels during procedures.
  • Provide support with patient positioning, transfer, and transportation.
  • Assist with inventory management and maintenance of anesthesia supplies.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of a clinical technician program preferred.
  • One year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a related healthcare field.
  • BLS certification required; Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAAT) certification preferred.
Working Conditions:

The Clinical Anesthesia Technician works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and long hours. The role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, as well as work in a well-lighted and ventilated office/clinical setting.

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. The hospital provides PPE for these situations.
