Clinical Technician, Behavioral Health Specialist

Purpose & Scope:

The Clinical Technician II plays a vital role in the healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Under the guidance of a licensed nurse, the Clinical Technician performs a variety of routine duties, including direct patient care, observing patient changes, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Effective communication and nursing skills are essential for providing empathetic care to patients.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Equivalent experience is also acceptable.

Experience:

Six months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience is required.

Completion or enrollment in a Clinical Technician II program or equivalent is also acceptable.

Certification/Licensure:

BLS certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

The Clinical Technician must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and pushing/pulling objects.

The employee must also be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress associated with this position.

Working Conditions:

The Clinical Technician works in a well-lighted and ventilated office/clinical setting.

Subject to frequent interruptions and long hours, the Clinical Technician may be required to work beyond normal working hours.

Routine occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and hazardous chemicals is possible.
