We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team. This pivotal role involves safeguarding our secure systems and ensuring adherence to stringent security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, execute, and uphold security policies and procedures for classified systems at the SECRET level.
  • Conduct thorough security evaluations, audits, and inspections to verify compliance with DoD, NIST, and other relevant security frameworks.
  • Identify, monitor, and address security incidents and vulnerabilities, ensuring prompt and effective remediation.
  • Maintain and revise system security plans (SSPs), risk assessments, and essential documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to guarantee secure configurations and ongoing monitoring.
  • Deliver security training and awareness programs for individuals accessing secure systems.

Facility Security Officer (FSO) Responsibilities:

  • Manage the physical security of secure areas, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee access control, visitor management, and security clearance processes for personnel.
  • Facilitate security briefings and training sessions for staff and contractors.
  • Update facility security plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency action plans as necessary.
  • Engage with government security representatives to ensure compliance and address security issues.
  • Conduct self-inspections and assist with external security audits.
Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. citizenship with an active SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Security, Cybersecurity) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in information systems security or facility security.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD, NIST, and other pertinent security standards.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including vulnerability management and access control systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-security environment.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+ are highly regarded.

Preferred:

  • Experience handling classified information and managing secure facilities.
  • Prior experience in an ISSO or FSO capacity.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Monitoring and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
