Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of organizational processes, systems, and networks.
  • Monitor designated systems to guarantee high availability, optimal performance, and robust security.
  • Provide assistance with daily operational maintenance, support, and upgrades.
  • Adhere to established IT policies and procedures to conduct audits and ensure compliance.
  • Safeguard data integrity by implementing standardized software and hardware solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects, requests, changes, and tasks.
  • Document issues in tracking systems, providing updates on progress and status.
  • Understand and apply Change Management principles when modifying IT services.
  • Proactively oversee assigned systems to ensure high availability and security.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of information systems and components.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of information systems.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of assigned systems and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience managing Linux environments, including server and workstation administration, particularly in isolated environments.
  • Proficiency with container platforms, such as Podman and Docker.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Willingness to perform maintenance and support on systems outside of standard hours as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills, quick learning ability, and proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to complex, practical scenarios.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to continuous learning as system requirements evolve.
  • Compliance with DoD 8140 standards (or ability to obtain compliance shortly after hire).
  • Experience with server and desktop configuration and maintenance.
  • Capability to manage the installation and maintenance of monthly security updates.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten years of experience in IT systems administration.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services.
  • Automation skills using scripts or tools like Ansible.
  • Experience with RedHat Identity Management (IdM).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and database management.
  • Understanding of DoD security requirements in classified environments.
  • Active security clearance is a plus.
