Position Overview:
- As a Senior Automation Systems Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in PLCs, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and process controls to lead and deliver automation solutions across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge automation solutions, either independently or as a team leader. You will conceptualize, detail, and execute control systems for industrial processes and machinery that align with client specifications. This includes developing control system architectures, selecting appropriate components, detailing schematic diagrams, and producing system documentation.
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU) and develop process visualization tools (HMI/SCADA), along with creating databases for historical data archiving and display, and executing control system implementations at client sites.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text to achieve project objectives. Familiarity with standard programming languages like VBA, .NET, and SQL for HMI/SCADA system development is preferred.
  • For larger systems, design and implement industrial networking solutions to connect control system components and instrumentation, utilizing protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus.
  • Manage project responsibilities, including developing execution plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, task prioritization, scheduling, and financial tracking. Oversee daily operations of projects valued up to $1M, ensuring profitability and successful delivery.
  • Possess a diverse engineering skill set, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously while also providing technical leadership to junior engineers and technicians. Potentially act as Project Manager for smaller initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Rockwell and Cimplicity.
  • Experience with web-based data integrations for monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to develop automated work processes within the System Platform.
  • Provide technical leadership on design standards related to graphics, alarming, and scalability.
  • Proficient in SQL, .NET, Power BI, Grafana, and APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC hardware/software platforms, including Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon.
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA platforms such as ICONICS Genesis64, Wonderware ArchestrA, GE CIMPLICITY, and Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View.
  • Understanding of DCS platforms like Emerson DeltaV.
  • Experience in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing, life sciences, building automation, food and beverage, oil & gas, and mining.
  • Ability to design electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC and control panels.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams of engineers and technicians.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Professional references from a subordinate, peer, and manager.
  • Field device troubleshooting and job estimating experience.
