Position Overview:

The Quality Control Manager at Multipack West plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and report any deficiencies or practices that may jeopardize food safety and quality to senior management promptly.
  • Participate actively in HACCP, Product Development, Approved Supplier, Food Defense, Recall, Crisis Management, and Food Fraud Teams.
  • Conduct regular inspections on the factory floor to assess the quality of production and investigate any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food regulatory standards, FDA regulations, SOPs, SSOPs, GMP, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Efficiently manage time to uphold quality assurance programs within the manufacturing environment.
  • Verify that all new equipment and utensils are designed for optimal cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Supervise compliance with production conditions, specifications, process controls, and tracking systems.
  • Conduct internal audits and verify existing production control forms to ensure adherence to program requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure all activities and installations meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update processing instructions related to product quality and safety.
  • Review and approve all finished products, packaging, and suppliers.
  • Monitor programs aimed at controlling foreign materials in the production process.
  • Review Letters of Guarantee, Specifications, and Certificates of Analysis for incoming ingredients.
  • Analyze lab results for finished products and update client profiles accordingly.
  • Supervise and schedule Quality and Sanitation staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Participate in the verification and review of the HACCP program, including documentation of critical control points.
  • Oversee employee hiring, training, and performance evaluations for Quality Control and Sanitation personnel.
  • Facilitate ongoing training on quality and food safety responsibilities.
  • Conduct monitoring activities throughout all stages of product production.
  • Update the Hold Log for non-conforming products and assist in determining dispositions.
  • Review monthly audits conducted by Quality Control Technicians.
  • Engage in meetings and present findings as required.
  • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions for non-conforming products.
  • Manage environmental swab collections and third-party testing schedules.
  • Review timecards and approve leave for Quality Control and Sanitation staff.
  • Execute special tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • 3-4 years of quality assurance experience is preferred.
  • HACCP certification is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations is preferred.
  • Understanding of sanitation processes is necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
