Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team. As a key member of our Culinary Team, you will play a pivotal role in executing a great menu and pushing the boundaries of cuisine while refining your skills in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and produce a variety of high-quality dishes as per guest orders, while following approved recipes & specifications in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Perform work on different kitchen line stations as per business demands, working collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver dishes simultaneously at appropriate times.
  • Quality Control: Weigh and measure ingredients; use recipes to produce dishes up to standard, ensuring that food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet The Chicago Club standards.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain department cleanliness and organization, adhere to safe work and equipment practices, and follow all food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
  • Inventory Management: Store and/or discard leftover food, set up stock stations, and replenish kitchen inventory along with necessary supplies.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all products and prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO.
  • Customer Focus: Exhibit mindfulness of volume due to open kitchen setting, and follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as a Line Cook in a full-service grill; fine dining or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Certification: Valid Food Handler's Certification.
  • Skills: Excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking, knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand & walk for the duration of the shift, up to 8 hours constantly.
  • Variable Temperature: Must be able to work in a variable temperature environment frequently.
  • Loud Environment: Must be able to work in a loud environment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to bend, pull, twist, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds constantly.
  • Sensory Requirements: Must be able to hear, see, taste, and smell always.
