This Behavioral Support Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing behavioral support and assistance to individuals in our residential programs. This includes developing and implementing behavior plans, assisting with crisis intervention, and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement behavior plans in collaboration with behavior specialists and support management specialists.
- Provide behavioral support and assistance to individuals in our residential programs.
- Assist with crisis intervention and emergency situations.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of individual progress and incidents.
- Administer medication as required and maintain accurate records.
- Transport individuals to and from activities and ensure their safety during transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, in-service training, and other pertinent program meetings.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience preferred.
- A valid driver's license that meets agency policy requirements.
- The ability to read and write effectively.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities.
- The physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing, as well as lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Basic computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
- The ability to lift and transfer individuals manually and mechanically, as required by prescribed program/plan.
- The ability to move, reposition, and place individuals in equipment, as needed.
- Physical agility and the ability to react to emergency situations.
- CPR certification is required.

Estimated Salary Range
$18-$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
