Job Overview

Horizon Village is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Assistant to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition for our clients.
  • Perform regular building rounds to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Conduct room searches to ensure patient safety and security.
  • Administer toxicology screenings to monitor patient health.
  • Supervise wellness and family group activities, promoting a sense of community among our patients.
  • Guide patients through the challenges of recovery, providing emotional support and guidance.
  • Address patient behaviors using a patient-centered approach, prioritizing their well-being and dignity.

Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree and 1 year of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in a behavioral health setting or customer service role.

Location:

Our facility is conveniently located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, providing easy access to public transportation and amenities.

Hours:

This part-time position requires Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday shifts from 3:30pm to 12:00am.

Physical Demands:

  • Stationary posture with frequent standing/sitting alternation.
  • Mobility between nearby worksites and within facilities.
  • Mobility required involving repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
  • Handling light duties, moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional operation of company-owned motor vehicles.
