We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic networks and data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Cabling and termination: Install and terminate fiber optic cables, including mounting and installing racks, patch panels, and hardware.
- Testing and troubleshooting: Perform continuity tests, use volt-ohmmeters, and troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable.
- Splicing: Perform mechanical and fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable.
- Physical and mental requirements: Work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems.
- Experience in testing and troubleshooting MMF and SMF systems.
- Industry certifications (Corning/FOA) and data center installation experience are preferred.
