About the Role

Simpson Strong-Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Territory Sales Representative to join our team in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive demand and grow sales in the defined marketplace, including being active on jobsites, prospecting, conducting sales calls, identifying opportunities, and providing presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Analyze industry and market needs, develop strategies, forecast territory demand, and provide support as needed by the customer and/or company.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers, manage supply chain relationships with channel partners, and provide ongoing training sessions, product demos, and technical support.
  • Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and potential employer, participate in tradeshows, association meetings, and various committees and/or causes, and provide educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout the territory.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience and/or training, with a strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth.
  • Technical skills, including the ability to gain product knowledge and work with specialists to provide support as needed.
  • Presentation skills, including the ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to step a prospect through a story.
  • Creative and innovative thinking, decision-making and judgment, accountability and dependability, adaptability and flexibility, customer focus, self-awareness, proactivity, influence, organization and prioritization, and computer/software/technology skills.
Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites, and outdoor construction job sites. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to loud noises. This role requires 50% domestic travel.
