Job Overview
As the Lead Coordinator for Patient Transport and Medical Support, you will be responsible for supervising the Medical Support Services team within the Supply Chain Equipment Depot.

This team plays a crucial role in the safe transportation of patients and their belongings, managing medical apparatus, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with safety regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. Key duties involve verifying equipment, coordinating maintenance, mentoring team members, and safeguarding patient confidentiality.


Compensation:
$24+/hr based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervisory Duties:
    Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily activities of the Medical Support Services team. Guide team members in equipment verification, transport tasks, and timely execution of responsibilities.
  • Scheduling and Record Keeping:
    Support the manager in creating weekly schedules for team members and maintaining departmental records.
  • Equipment Dispatch:
    Supervise the transportation of specialized equipment between vendors and nursing units.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Evaluate team performance, provide problem-solving support, and assist team members during staffing challenges.
  • Staff Development:
    Participate in the recruitment, orientation, training, and development of new staff.
  • Customer Service:
    Deliver superior customer service and communicate effectively with customers, hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Essential Functions
  • Patient Transport:
    Safely transport patients along with their belongings, medical records, and equipment within the healthcare facility. Assist with patient admissions and discharges, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Medical Equipment Oversight:
    Manage the verification of incoming and outgoing medical equipment. Lead the replenishment and expiration checks of respiratory and emergency supplies.
  • Maintenance Coordination:
    Coordinate routine and preventive maintenance of equipment with the BioMed team. Assemble, calibrate, troubleshoot, and conduct quality assurance testing of respiratory devices.

Additional Information
Adhere to all established systems and training programs to ensure a safe working environment. Follow all relevant regulations and maintain patient confidentiality while upholding the highest standards of care.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. 1-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent knowledge and skills. Previous hospital experience is advantageous. CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and people management skills. Capability to lift and transport over 50 pounds. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
