Key Responsibilities

The Lead Marine Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Executing marine and waterfront engineering tasks that are diverse and complex, necessitating a thorough understanding of technical codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Overseeing engineering planning and design activities at critical project phases.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Analyzing intricate challenges, adjusting methodologies, and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Leading the creation and coordination of project deliverables, including contract documentation.
  • Reviewing and certifying contract deliverables.
  • Conducting independent technical and quality assessments.
  • Applying initiative and independent judgment to adapt procedures for unique situations.
  • Ensuring adherence to Stantec's engineering and design protocols while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Executing safe work practices during both field and office tasks.
  • Collaborating with clients and regulatory bodies to ascertain project requirements and secure approvals.
  • Managing project budgets and financial performance through effective invoicing and monitoring.
  • Drafting and negotiating proposals as project challenges arise.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • Extensive expertise in the technical and functional aspects of marine and waterfront engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading teams.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the New England region.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in a New England state, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states within six months of employment.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, and structural analysis tools.
  • Prior experience with federal agency engineering and construction projects is advantageous.

Education and Experience

A minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience in marine and waterfront structures is required, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited institution; an advanced degree is preferred.
