Position Overview:

The role of the Customer Service Specialist is to effectively address member inquiries through various communication channels, including phone, fax, and email. This position is vital in promoting and providing information about our services and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional, courteous, and professional service to all members and prospective members. Ensure prompt response to all inquiries within one business day.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services and effectively communicate these to members.
  • Maintain accurate member account records within the computer system.
  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping and reporting requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
  1. Provide accurate and professional phone service to all members and potential members, ensuring immediate response to calls and timely correspondence.
  2. Process member transactions with a focus on accuracy.
  3. Maintain a professional demeanor and environment within the department.
  4. Offer financial information to members through various communication methods and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  5. Adhere to scheduled attendance requirements.
Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of one month to twelve months of relevant experience.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Interpersonal Skills: This role requires significant personal interaction, necessitating strong conflict resolution skills, relationship-building abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.

Additional Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work independently is crucial. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary, along with a proactive approach to member interactions.

Physical Requirements: The role involves regular movement within the work area, reaching, sorting, and communicating effectively with others, as well as the ability to identify small font communication and lift items weighing a minimum of 10 pounds.
