About This Role:
The Shelter Case Management Assistant Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the case management and client services across various shelters in North Central Massachusetts. This position ensures a consistent presence for families residing in the shelter, addressing their needs effectively. Collaborating closely with the Shelter Manager and under the guidance of the Director of Shelter Case Management, the Assistant Supervisor provides professional oversight, guidance, and support to the case management team, ensuring families receive high-quality services while adhering to program compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an onsite resource for families in the shelter, assisting case managers in establishing goals to achieve successful placements.
- Monitor case management activities to ensure adherence to the EOHLC Shelter Scope of Services.
- Enforce shelter rules and ensure compliance among all residents.
- Facilitate the assignment of case managers to new families entering the shelter and address immediate needs.
- Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, and reports related to case management.
- Document and track the progress of case managers towards rehousing objectives.
- Ensure proper documentation and communication regarding transportation utilized by residents.
- Respond to crises with support from the Shelter Manager and/or the Director of Shelter Operations and Director of Shelter Case Management.
- Provide supervision and accountability for case management staff.
- Participate in all required EOHLC meetings and training sessions as directed by the Director of Shelter Case Management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shelter Manager and Director of Shelter Case Management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in the human services sector.
- 2 years of experience within the State's Family Emergency Assistance Shelter Program funded by EOHLC.
- Training in CPR and First Aid.
- Demonstrated compassion and understanding of the needs of homeless families.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to set limits in a supportive manner.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to crises.
- Professional demeanor at all times.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in shelter operations, housing stabilization, clinical services, and trauma-informed care.
- Experience in developing culturally and linguistically diverse programs for individuals and families from various backgrounds.
- Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the ability to lead cultural competency initiatives sustainably.
- Preferred bilingual or multilingual abilities.
- Adaptability in managing conflicts and shifting priorities.
Work Authorization:
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
