Academic Professional Associate

The University of Georgia Marine Institute (UGAMI) is seeking an Academic Professional Associate to develop and administer residential instructional programs for University students. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position based on Sapelo Island, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and administer residential instructional programs at UGAMI, including identifying instructors, recruiting students, developing course budgets, creating marketing materials, and facilitating all aspects of the student experience.
- Act as a liaison with the UGA campus and other USG units.
- Teach courses in their area of specialty, mentor students conducting independent research projects, and provide instructional and logistical support for visiting classes.
- Represent the Institute in interactions with partners, potential funders, and other visitors, and contribute to the UGAMI administration.
- A terminal degree in Marine Sciences or a related field.
- University-level teaching experience is required.
- Established record of teaching or supervising undergraduate students in a field setting.
- Evidence of history and success in administrative work.
- Background working in field stations, including familiarity with Sapelo Island and UGA, will be of significant advantage.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and develop productive and collegial relationships, collaboration, and communication with various constituencies.
- Ability to collect, compile, analyze and evaluate information and make verbal or written presentations based on this information.
