About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at the University of Georgia. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students, providing guidance and mentorship to help them achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with assigned caseload of students to provide accurate information about their intended degree program and make recommendations about course selection for upcoming semesters.
  • Generate electronic advising forms detailing these recommendations and maintain notes about each meeting.
  • Assist students with referrals to departments and other colleges at UGA, study abroad programs, tutoring, and other forms of academic assistance.
  • Maintain consistent contact with students, maintain accurate electronic student records, and respond in a timely manner to questions from students.
Requirements
  • Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
  • Ability to learn university and college degree requirements and interpret and communicate these requirements to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Use Internet, electronic student systems and databases, and Microsoft Office.
  • Work with undergraduate students.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
