Job Summary

Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Commercial Procurement to lead our commercial procurement organization. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a global commercial procurement strategy that drives business growth, improves efficiency, and enhances our competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial procurement strategy that aligns with our business objectives and drives cost savings, process improvements, and supplier relationship enhancements.
  • Lead a team of procurement professionals to manage commercial procurement categories, including advertising, media, commercial distributions, contact centers, diagnostic services, field force, fulfillment & print, medical affairs, patient access and support, and partner closely with commercial teams to understand their procurement needs and align strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including commercial leaders, finance, and other business partners to ensure procurement activities support business objectives and drive revenue growth.
  • Manage relationships with key strategic suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the commercial procurement organization, including performance goals, coaching, and mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, accounting, or finance.
  • Minimum 15+ years of related business experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in procurement, with experience in managing large-scale procurement operations and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Experience working in a global environment, with a strong understanding of international business practices and cultures.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Strong risk management skills, with experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience working with commercial teams to understand their procurement needs and align strategies accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field, such as business or finance.
  • Professional certifications, such as CPM or CPIM.
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of commercial procurement practices and regulations.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives and implementing process improvements.
