Medical Records Assistant

Join the State of North Carolina Department of Adult Correction as a Medical Records Assistant - NCCIW. This role is responsible for performing a variety of office and technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of medical records, documents, or materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of office and technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of medical records, documents, or materials.
- Work in an environment with other Medical Records Assistants.
- Effectively maintain files/records according to departmental policy to allow quick access and retrieval of information requested.
- Work requires general knowledge of medical office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, record, and/or balance records, reports, and numbers.
- Duties within the public contact function involve interaction with medical providers and vendors.
- Functions independently within defined guidelines.
Requirements:
- Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
- Demonstrated experience in organization, retention, review, and filing of records.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
