Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at Liberty Hospice. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of ICD-10 coding for hospice records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and audit medical records to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Reimbursement/Appeals Department to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize audit tools to ensure accurate and complete auditing of medical records.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and Liberty Hospice policies.
  • Notify offices and clinicians of deficient findings and follow up to correct errors.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing with 3 years of hospice care experience and medical coding experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and be flexible to change assignments.
  • Working knowledge of hospice regulations, including licensure, conditions of participation, and accreditation standards.
