Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, BMI, respirations, and pulse.
Collect and process specimens as directed by the provider, ensuring accurate tracking and logging.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards and biomedical assessment checks.
Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, ensuring proper setup and Standard Precautions.
Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, tracking and reviewing test results under the direction of the provider.
Administer vaccines, medications, and controlled substances as prescribed, asking screening questions and identifying risks.
Document prescription requests and refills, performing basic office procedures and examinations as needed.
Provide patient education and instructions, reviewing VIS sheets and comprehensive health information with patients and families.

Requirements

Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program or National Medical Assistant Certification.
Basic Life Support certification.
Proficient communication skills, including SBAR technique, and ability to navigate electronic health records.
Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
