Located near historic downtown Madison, Indiana, Clifty Inn is nestled within the stunning Clifty Falls State Park. The Inn boasts 71 guest accommodations, the Falls Restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, and versatile banquet and conference spaces.

Position Overview:

This role entails overseeing kitchen operations during designated shifts. You may also be required to engage in production tasks while supervising. You will be responsible for managing food production costs and ensuring effective training and motivation of staff. Strong communication with other departmental managers and team members is essential.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is typically $14.23 per hour.

Daily Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Establishing and upholding proper receiving and storage protocols.
  • Ensuring production processes adhere to standardized recipes, established par levels, staff training, and presentation standards.
  • Implementing food safety measures, including regular temperature checks and documentation.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Adjusting staffing levels to align with consumer demand during shifts.
  • Possibly performing tasks of various kitchen positions while supervising.
  • Utilizing training materials to uphold high standards and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with other hotel staff to achieve food department objectives.
  • Participating in monthly all-employee meetings.

Qualifications for Success:
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar high-volume environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to lift over 30 pounds while moving and twisting.
  • Capacity to work extended hours in elevated temperatures.
  • Serve-Safe certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Availability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Uniform may be provided by Indiana State Park Inns.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and guests.
Supervisory Duties:

This position may involve supervisory responsibilities based on the needs of the agency.
