Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

Cardinal Health is seeking a dedicated pharmacist capable of overseeing a newly established hospital-based retail pharmacy. Our pharmacists are crucial in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to communities in need, which encompasses immunizations, patient consultations, medication therapy management, and the oversight of high-risk patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute collaborative practice agreements to enhance patient medication adherence for high-risk individuals.
  • Apply best practices and ensure compliance with state regulations within the department.
  • Guarantee sufficient staffing levels to meet the operational demands of the pharmacy.
  • Maintain precise records of all prescription medications received and dispensed.
  • Ensure the establishment and adherence to policies regarding the accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions.
  • Safeguard the security of the prescription area and its contents, including restricting unauthorized individuals from entering the area while the pharmacist is temporarily absent.
  • Ensure that only licensed pharmacists and interns or externs under direct supervision provide professional consultations to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Prevent the dispensing or presence of misbranded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stored, or outdated medications in the pharmacy.
  • Maintain the prescription area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy is required; PharmD is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of pharmacy management experience, with 5-7 years of related pharmacy experience.
  • Active pharmacist registration in the state of employment.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient multitasking and time management abilities.
