Position Overview:

The Facilities Engineer II is responsible for overseeing the operational integrity and efficiency of facility systems within Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. This role emphasizes the importance of safety, quality, and effective project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritization: Exhibit strong attention to detail to enhance efficiency, optimize project planning, and uphold safety standards. The role necessitates the ability to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot routine issues, utilizing technical expertise and sound judgment to determine the best solutions.
  • Project Management: Direct daily scheduling and workflow initiatives on a project basis. This includes assigning priorities, monitoring timelines, budgets, and deadlines, and ensuring accurate reporting of variances. Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to define project requirements and maintain facility utilization data.
  • Communication: Foster effective communication with colleagues across the facility and provide routine updates to management. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for managing master documents and communicating about outages and planned work.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and performance metrics. Conduct quality control checks and maintain thorough documentation of procedures. Verify that construction personnel receive adequate training and demonstrate competence in their roles.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage construction budgets for building maintenance, including estimates for equipment, labor, and materials. Monitor expenditures to maximize the benefits of services rendered and ensure the accuracy of invoices.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, along with experience in hospital, healthcare, or research settings. Certifications such as Project Management Healthcare Certification (CHPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous.
