Job Title: Staff/Senior Propulsion Engineer

Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff/Senior Propulsion Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our propulsion systems development team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of advanced propulsion systems for autonomous aircraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of propulsion systems for autonomous aircraft, including conceptual design, system integration, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure propulsion system requirements are met and integrated into the overall aircraft design.
  • Develop and maintain propulsion system design documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and certification reports.
  • Work closely with the propulsion systems test team to plan, execute, and analyze test results.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related STEM discipline).
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
  • Demonstrated expertise in aerospace propulsion systems.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Must be a US Person.
  • Candidates should expect to travel up to 20% of their time.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrable leadership experience on a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with engine-airframe integration, fuel systems, and power generation systems.
  • Experience leading aerospace propulsion system development, from conceptual design through production.
  • Experience with business capture and early concept development for commercial, government, and military propulsion systems.
  • Systems engineering experience with powerplant design including system safety assessments, failure hazard analysis, and certification and test plans.
  • System architectures design and performance analysis experience.
  • System component requirements definition, design, and development experience.
  • Experience with electric and hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
  • Experience with propulsion system test planning, setup, and execution.
  • Experience using CAD systems (CATIA preferred).
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 22lbs.
Salary Range:

Minimum Range: $83,000.00 to $148,000.00

Maximum Range: $101,000.00 to $179,000.00
