Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist II to join our team at Cardinal Health, working in a hospital system pharmacy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for adjusting and dispensing medication to patients, ensuring the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system, making adjustments according to protocols for a given medication.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy, checking all work in line with State Boards of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Adjust dosages based on established protocols for each drug, ensuring that dosages are appropriate for the patient's condition and in light of other medications the patient is using.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications, especially when patients are using multiple medications, are beginning new regimens, or are being discharged.
  • Manage narcotics and inventory control and compliance, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
Requirements
  • Licensed, "good standing" pharmacist in the state of Montana or have the ability to become quickly licensed in the state.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy - new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 2 years In-patient hospital pharmacy experience, preferred.
  • IV experience preferred or willing to obtain.
