Cardinal Health is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Staff Pharmacist to manage pharmacy operations within a hospital environment. This role involves working 32-40 hours per week, exclusively on weekdays, during operational hours from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM.

Role Overview

The Health System Pharmacy division plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective management of pharmacy services that cater to acute care hospitals and various healthcare providers. The Pharmacist II will be responsible for adjusting and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with established protocols, and providing patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals to verify physician orders through the pharmacy information system, ensuring accuracy in drug type and dosage.
  • Oversees the work of Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring adherence to regulations and providing guidance on complex prescriptions and pharmacy operations.
  • Adjusts medication dosages in accordance with established protocols, considering the patient's overall medication regimen and condition.
  • Educates patients regarding medication usage and expected outcomes, particularly for those on multiple medications or new treatment plans.
  • Manages inventory control and compliance, including documentation and audits of medication stock.
  • Collaborates with nursing and medical staff to confirm orders and gather necessary information.
  • Assists in maintaining pharmacy accreditation and implementing operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing in the state of Montana or eligible for licensure.
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program; new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Preferred experience of 2 years in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting.
  • IV experience is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small objects and performing various tasks.
  • Proficient in using multiple pharmacy information systems.

Compensation

Hourly wage range: $48.70 - $69.60
