Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Behavioral Support Counselors. This role involves providing essential care to children facing emotional and behavioral challenges in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in fulfilling work by assisting children with emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Compensation starts at $19/hr for full-time positions, with increased rates of $20/hr for weekday overnight shifts and $21/hr for weekend overnight shifts.
  • Available shifts include:
    • 2nd Shift Sunday to Wednesday
    • 2nd Shift Wednesday to Saturday
    • Overnight shifts
Essential Duties

As a Behavioral Support Counselor, you will:

  • Design and execute social and recreational activities tailored for children.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the emotional, behavioral, and educational growth of children.
  • Participate actively in supervision and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment, ensuring safety and meeting the physical needs of children.
  • Implement treatment protocols as outlined in children's treatment plans and crisis management strategies.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attending meetings and preparing reports.
  • Supervise children directly, ensuring their well-being.
  • Utilize therapeutic crisis intervention techniques and physical restraint when necessary.
  • Administer medications following established policies and procedures.
  • Be open to supervision and professional growth.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork.
  • Respond swiftly and safely to emergencies.
  • Work effectively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Apply training principles to daily interactions with children.
  • Engage in activities with children, promoting their development.
  • Stand and work for extended periods, with physical activities such as bending and lifting as needed.
  • Perform therapeutic physical interventions when required.
Qualifications

A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous. A valid driver's license is also preferred.

Note: Candidates must be available for a two-week paid orientation or two weekend orientations.
