Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower individuals to take control of their lives and make informed decisions about their care.
  • Assist individuals in identifying their strengths and developing skills to advocate for themselves.
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals in the recovery process.
  • Assist individuals in developing self-management plans to address their mental health needs.
  • Promote hope and empowerment through regular meetings and support.
  • Provide side-by-side interventions to individuals, focusing on problem-solving, skills training, and modeling positive behavior.
  • Provide peer support services using evidence-based modalities, including IPS, WRAP, WHR, and other recovery-oriented treatments.
  • Participate in daily team huddles and meetings to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Complete assessments and evaluations as assigned to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience working with adults with mental illness, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • May substitute six months of experience with a college degree in a human services field
  • Must be either receiving mental health services or have received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their mental illness with an established recovery process
  • Must have a strong commitment to mental health recovery and be able to establish supportive relationships with individuals
  • Ability to provide flexible services that are community-based and focused on teamwork
  • Have or be willing to complete trainings such as WRAP, Intentional Peer Support, or Whole Health and Resiliency
