Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiac pathology and the ability to operate complex ultrasound equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform echocardiograms using M-Mode, two-dimensional, Doppler, and Color Doppler techniques
* Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record anatomical and pathological information
* Understand basic and complex hemodynamics and wall motion abnormalities
* Obtain accurate and thorough measurements and calculations
* Provide quality patient care and maintain a safe and comfortable environment
Requirements:
* Associate Degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent
* Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program
* Passing of the registry certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Adult Echocardiography and Physics
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records
* Ability to use independent judgment to acquire optimum diagnostic sonographic information
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams
Physical Requirements:
* Emotional and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position
* Strength sufficient to lift patients and move heavy equipment
* Ability to maintain prolonged arm positions necessary for scanning
